Welcome to my updated website!

This blog post is the first one in a very long time.

When I became a Canva Creator in October 2021, creating Canva templates became my priority. I was excited to explore how to showcase my graphic design skills through Canva templates. The focus of my online work shifted from being a Virtual Assistant to being a Canva Creator. It has been amazing!

I have been using Canva since 2016. My first impression was that it was so amazing, and I wanted to create Canva templates for Canva and not just sell Canva templates via Etsy and Creative Market. I’ve always thought Canva is revolutionary. It helps many people create graphics easily because of its templates, and it’s fantastic, especially for people who don’t have a design background. Canva has so many templates that you can use for your business, blog, social media, etc. You don’t have to create a design from scratch! If you want to customize the templates, you can easily do that too.

How did I become a Canva Creator?

I saw the ad on how to become a Canva Creator via Instagram. I immediately applied! I remember being thankful that I have a portfolio already showing my Canva designs. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to apply. Then, after two weeks, I got an email with an invitation to join the Canva Creator program! I was so happy and grateful!

The Canva Creator program has an online community. Canva Creators are from different parts of the world, making the Canva library more fun!

Fast forward to 2023, and I’ve created over 1,000 Canva templates! You can check out my Canva Creator profile here.

It has been a wonderful experience! I don’t have a design background, but I love art, design, fashion, and anything artistic and read and watch so many things about them, and that’s how I’ve learned to make graphics. I’m happy and grateful that I can do what I love while also earning from it!

Going back to my website, I stopped creating content for a long time or making blog posts about what’s happening to my online work. I had so many ideas on how to revamp my website to showcase my Canva templates, but I procrastinated and procrastinated, and then I felt overwhelmed.

I was overthinking how to go about it because my website was all about providing Pinterest marketing services. I have been working as a Pinterest Virtual Assistant/Manager/Strategist for a long time. I also offered Virtual Assistant services too. What would I do with my existing content, blog posts, etc.? Changing an entire website's structure, design, and copy is difficult. Aside from that, I’m using Squarespace, and many things have changed on Squarespace, such as they have a 7.1 version now. There are many things to work on, and I can’t do everything alone. I was able to build my website many years ago, but I felt that if I were to revamp my website, I would seek help. That’s why I asked my friend Jessica Haines to help me update my website.

I was so happy that I got the opportunity to work with Jessica. I love what she’s doing as a website designer, and she’s also a wonderful friend.

We had a video call and discussed what I wanted to change on my website. I should have done this a year ago, but I thought I could do it alone. I’d highly recommend Jessica to anyone interested in revamping her/his/their website or wanting to have a website. I enjoyed working with her and learning many things from her on how to improve my website. She made me feel it was easy to revamp my website and not overwhelming. She helped me organize my thoughts and ideas on how I wanted to change my website.

Throughout revamping my website, I learned I should have contacted my friend (Jessica) and asked for help sooner. I felt like I was so indecisive because I didn’t know how to go about it, and the thing it’s so easy to talk to my friend! When I chatted with Jessica about what I wanted to change with my website, she gave me some clarity, and at that moment, I decided that it was time to work with her!

I also feel that I may have missed some opportunities to showcase my Canva templates because I didn’t utilize my website for more than a year. A consistent online presence is essential, especially if you have an online business. Also, I’d like to point out that whatever you have on your website should be consistent with what you currently do.

What can you expect from my upcoming blog posts?

I would showcase my Canva templates, share my inspiration, and collaborate with my fellow creative entrepreneurs.

That’s it for now! And thank you for being here!
